OutRush — Panel Survey of Russian Post-2022 Emigrants Co-investigator
Five waves · 30,000+ responses · emigrants in over 100 countries · panel surveys, survey experiments, and in-depth interviews
One of the largest longitudinal studies of post-2022 Russian emigration. The panel follows the same respondents across several years to track political attitudes, integration, transnational ties, exposure to repression, and intentions to return. I work on the gender, political participation, and transnational repression strands, and co-design the survey instruments.
Findings have been covered by The New York Times, the Financial Times, and the BBC.

The Science of Dreams — Russians’ Dreams During the War Principal investigator
1,000+ anonymous first-person dream narratives · open calls, thematic coding, narrative analysis · artistic collaborations and exhibitions
The project collects and analyses dream narratives produced by Russians during the war as a form of social testimony. Dreams capture fear, moral conflict, and political imagination that are difficult to voice in ordinary public speech — and they are one of the few places where people under repression speak without editing themselves.
“I dreamed that I was in my old apartment. The front door is closed but unlocked. I close it with a latch, and suddenly, through the crack, I notice that there is someone behind it…”
“A mysterious celestial object falls to Earth near Moscow’s water reservoirs; scientists announce that it can poison the water. The Russian authorities decide not to shoot down the object…”
“I came with a group of rescuers to the Mausoleum on Red Square. We received a signal that the mausoleum had been taken over many years ago by two crazy old women…”
